After going through airfyers ( a new one, every other year, and this being a *prime day*), I couldn't pass this up. I read a lot of reviews from the pro and con side, after reading the complaints about "a really bad burning rubber smell", and "it smoked so bad i had to though it out"...well, if those that complained, would have taken the time to actually open and inspect their fryer, they would notice that there are rubber feet attached to the feet of the crisper tray(those need to be taken off, before use, for those that can't read owner's manuals, or those pesky "read this before use" suggestions. It's a sad day, when in this day and age, educated, or presumably educated people can't, or won't read instruction manuals. As far as *smells*, the only odd odor was the smell of a new appliance heating up, afterwards, to try it out and see if it smoked, i fried sausages, one of the greasiest foods one can put i an airfryer, and no smoke, just the smell of fresh cooked sausage. That being said, PLEASE check the crisper plate for those *inconvenient rubber feet" that protect the crisper plate from scratching up the bottom of the fryer basket, It's not rocket science, just common sense, for those of us, lucky to have been blessed with the gift.
